Government of India has constituted a High-Powered Task Force (HPTF) with Nandan Nilekani as Chairman to examine and recommend reforms relating to the conduct, security, design and governance of public examinations, including examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The HPTF will be examining measures for strengthening institutional systems and processes, use of appropriate technologies, examination infrastructure, accessibility and inclusion, and student well-being, with a view to developing a robust, secure, transparent and future-ready examination system.
HPTF’s Terms of References–
- Objective of the Task Force: The HPTF aims to develop a public examination system that is robust, secure, transparent, equitable and future-ready.
Areas Being Examined:
- Institutional Systems & Processes: Strengthening examination-related institutions and procedures.
- Examination Integrity & Security: Preventing malpractice, paper leaks, and other security threats.
- Technology Deployment: Using appropriate technologies to improve examination management and security.
- Examination Infrastructure: Augmenting and modernising examination infrastructure.
- Accessibility & Inclusion: Ensuring examinations are accessible and equitable for all candidates.
- Student Well-being: Safeguarding the mental and overall well-being of students.
