IAF Sarang Team Reaches Egypt for El Alamein Airshow

Indian Air Force (IAF) Sarang Helicopter Display Team has reached Egypt to participate in the 2nd El Alamein International Airshow, being held from 8–10 September 2026 at El Alamein International Airport.

Sarang will fly the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, showcasing India’s aerospace capabilities through precision flying and highly choreographed aerial manoeuvres.

The participation is also significant for India–Egypt defence and diplomatic relations, providing another platform for closer engagement between the two countries and with international aviation teams.

Sarang Team: Key Features

  • World’s only five-helicopter display team.
  • Known for close-proximity flying, complex formation manoeuvres and tightly coordinated aerial routines.
  • Demonstrates both the skill and discipline of IAF pilots and the capabilities of India’s indigenous aerospace industry.
  • At El Alamein, the team will perform its signature “Dolphin Leap” and introduce a new manoeuvre called the “Spot Stall Turn”.
  • The performances will highlight the agility and versatility of the ALH Dhruv.
