National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with Intel India, has launched the India Agentic AI Skilling Initiative. It aims to prepare students, professionals and educators for the growing adoption of Agentic AI and build an industry-aligned, future-ready AI talent ecosystem.
Two Programmes Under the Initiative

| Agentic AI for Everyone | Introduces AI agents, workflow automation and multi-agent systems. It uses no-code platforms for hands-on learning in designing and governing AI-powered workflows, with applications in productivity, business transformation and decision-making. |
| Engineering Agentic AI Systems | Focuses on designing, building and deploying agentic AI systems using no-code/low-code platforms and code-based frameworks. Topics include agent architecture, tool integration, orchestration, memory and deployment of scalable, production-ready systems. |
What is Agentic AI?
Agentic AI is an advanced form of AI designed to make decisions and take actions autonomously to achieve defined goals. Unlike conventional AI, which mainly responds to instructions or analyses information, agentic AI can set goals, plan tasks and execute them with limited human intervention.
Its core operational cycle consists of:
Perception → Reasoning → Planning → Action → Reflection
- Perception: Collects information from sources such as sensors, databases and user interfaces.
- Reasoning: Uses technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs) to understand context, analyse information and develop possible solutions.
- Planning: Sets goals, divides them into smaller tasks and determines how to achieve them.
- Action: Executes tasks, makes decisions or interacts with other systems.
- Reflection: Evaluates the outcome and uses feedback to improve subsequent decisions and actions.
