Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) Unveiled by MeitY

The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) and the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) Conference 2025 in New Delhi as a step towards strengthening India’s digital governance. The event was held under the “Gov.In: Harmonisation of Government of India’s Digital Footprint” initiative, aimed at standardizing digital presence across government platforms.

The launch of DBIM was accompanied by critical components to harmonize India’s digital presence:

  • DBIM Toolkit – Provides guidelines for maintaining uniform digital identity.
  • Gov.In CMS Platform – A centralized content management system (CMS) for streamlined website management.
  • Central Content Publishing System (CCPS) – Enables centralized content governance across government websites.
  • Social Media Campaign Guidelines – Standardizes digital communication strategies for ministries.

Implementation & Expansion

  • A DBIM-compliant MeitY website was unveiled, showcasing the unified digital experience.
  • Four other ministry/department websites have migrated to the Gov.In CMS platform, with more to follow.
