The second phase of the Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG) 2025 is set to take place in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir from March 9 to 12. Originally scheduled for February 22-25, the event was postponed due to insufficient snow on the Kangdoori slopes and the golf course.

Sports Disciplines:
- The games in Gulmarg will feature various winter sports, including alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, ski mountaineering, and snowboarding.
Participation & Competition:
- A total of 19 teams representing states, Union Territories, and institutional outfits will compete across six disciplines.
- Currently, UT Ladakh leads the medal tally with four golds, two silvers, and one bronze.
First Phase of KIWG 2025:
- The first phase was held in the Union Territory of Ladakh from January 23 to 27.
- Events in Ladakh included ice hockey and speed skating.

- A flagship event under the Khelo India initiative, designed to provide a competitive platform for India’s top winter sports athletes.
- The Games follow a team championship format where medals won by individual athletes contribute to the overall tally of their respective state, Union Territory, or institution.
- KIWG encompasses a range of disciplines such as alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snow rugby, ice hockey, figure skating, and more.
- First held in 2020, Jammu and Kashmir hosted the initial editions, with the 2024 edition co-hosted by Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir witnessing the Indian Army claiming the overall title.
