Indian Army, HDFC Bank, and CSC Expands Project NAMAN

The Indian Army, HDFC Bank, and CSC Academy (Common Service Centre E-Governance Limited) have renewed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand Project NAMAN – A Tribute to Veterans to 26 Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) locations.

Key Highlights

Tripartite MoU Renewal: Signed between HDFC Bank (under its Parivartan programme), the Indian Army’s DIAV, and CSC Academy. The initiative aims to provide dedicated support and services to Army Veterans, their families, and Next of Kin (NOKs).

Expansion to 26 DIAV Locations: The project will now extend across more military stations, enhancing service accessibility.

CSC Centres Operated by Veterans & NOKs: These Common Service Centres (CSCs) will be managed by Army Veterans, their families, or NOKs within defence establishments.

Range of Services Offered:

  • Pension-related services via SPARSH (System for Pension Administration Raksha).
  • Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, etc.
  • Business-to-Consumer (B2C) services including financial assistance, utility bill payments, and insurance.

About Project NAMAN

Dedicated Support for Veterans & Families: Provides a structured support system for Defence Pensioners, War Widows, and NOKs.

SPARSH Digital Pension System: Streamlines pension-related processes, ensuring easy access to financial benefits.

Reception & Facilitation Centres: These centres serve as one-stop service hubs for Army personnel and their families.

Phase-Wise Expansion:

  • Phase 1 (September 2023): 14 CSCs established at key locations including New Delhi, Jalandhar, Leh, Dehradun, Lucknow, Jodhpur, Bengdubi, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Secunderabad, Saugor, Guntur, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru.
  • Phase 2 (March 13, 2025): Expansion to 26 locations, including Dehradun.

Veteran & NOK Empowerment:

  • Each CSC is managed by a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE), selected from the veteran community.
  • VLEs receive specialized training from CSC e-Governance India Limited.

Financial Assistance:

  • HDFC Bank provides a ₹20,000 monthly grant for the first 12 months to VLEs, ensuring sustainability of CSCs.
  • This initiative not only benefits veterans and their families but also extends its services to the entire resident population of military stations and surrounding communities.
