Techkriti 2025, Asia’s largest intercollegiate technical and entrepreneurial festival, was inaugurated at IIT Kanpur by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan.
This year’s theme, “Panta Rhei” (Everything Flows), highlights the continuous evolution of technology and innovation, emphasizing the dynamic nature of scientific advancements.

Rakshakriti: Defence Expo Showcasing Cutting-Edge Military Tech
- A special segment, ‘Rakshakriti’, was launched as a dedicated Defence Expo showcasing India’s latest advancements in military technology.
- The event brought together scholars, industry leaders, and defence personnel to discuss innovations in areas like: Autonomous drones; Cybersecurity; Next-generation defence systems; Artificial intelligence (AI) in military applications.
- Objective: Strengthening India’s national security and reducing dependence on imported defence technologies by fostering research and industry collaborations.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation Focus
- Techkriti serves as a launchpad for startups and entrepreneurs, enabling them to pitch ideas to investors, venture capitalists, and industry leaders.
- Several competitions, workshops, and panel discussions focus on emerging technologies, including: Blockchain; Renewable Energy Solutions; Space Technology; Robotics & Automation; AI and Machine Learning.
- Sustainability and climate tech innovations are key focus areas, with green energy projects and environmental solutions taking center stage.
About Techkriti
- Techkriti is an annual four-day Inter-collegiate Technical and Entrepreneurship festival organized by IIT Kanpur, held every March.
- The name Techkriti is derived from ‘Tech’ (Technology) + ‘Kriti’ (Creation, in Sanskrit).
- First organized in 1995, Techkriti has become one of India’s premier technical festivals.
- 2025 marks the 31st edition of the festival.
