West Bengal has secured Geographical Indication (GI) tags for seven new traditional products, raising the state’s total GI-tagged items to 33. This move is expected to boost the local economy and promote global recognition of Bengal’s heritage.

- GI tag is a legal recognition under the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999.
