All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has indigenously developed a digital Inter-AIIMS Referral Portal to streamline patient referrals and healthcare management across 22 AIIMS institutions nationwide.

Purpose: To streamline digital referrals and improve healthcare coordination across AIIMS institutions
Current Rollout: Pilot phase between AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS Bilaspur
Scope: To be expanded to all AIIMS hospitals after successful pilot implementation
Objectives:
- Enhance patient-centric care through faster, transparent referrals
- Improve hospital coordination within AIIMS network
- Minimize manual errors and reduce waiting times
- Enable real-time access for doctors to oversee slot bookings, referrals, and communication
- Empower patients with clarity and visibility into referral status

- Facial recognition systems for patient verification
- Automated workflows to streamline referral approvals and reduce human errors
- Emphasis on secure and transparent operations
- Integrated with AIIMS Vishram Sadan Portal for: Comfortable and affordable accommodation for patients & Improved support during outstation medical visits
Pilot Phase:
- Commencing as pilot project will serve as proof of concept before national rollout
- Aims to identify challenges, refine tech and protocols
- Helps build a scalable framework for nationwide expansion
