India Hosts First ASEAN- India Cruise Dialogue

India hosted the first-ever ASEAN–India Cruise Dialogue aboard the MV Empress (Cordelia Cruise Ship) at Chennai Port, with participation from all 10 ASEAN member nations and Timor Leste. The dialogue aims to strengthen maritime connectivity, promote cruise tourism, and deepen India–ASEAN strategic ties in the Indo-Pacific region.

ASEAN–India Cruise Dialogue Highlights

  • Venue: MV Empress (Cordelia Cruise Ship), Chennai Port; Follow-up in Mamallapuram (UNESCO Heritage Site)
  • Host: Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW)
  • Participants: Delegates from 10 ASEAN countries + Timor Leste
  • ASEAN Members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam
  • Special Guest: Timor Leste (observer/participant)
