The Madhya Pradesh government recently approved the Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana. This ambitious rural development scheme aims to transform selected villages into model sustainable communities. It integrates traditional values with modern practices to promote self-reliance and environmental sustainability.
About Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana
- Objective: It aims to develop self-reliant model villages (Vrindavan Grams) in each district and assembly constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Village with minimum population of 2,000
- At least 500 cattle per village
- These model villages will reflect holistic rural development, rooted in sustainability, spirituality, and self-sufficiency.
Key Focus Areas:
- Cow rearing and dairy development
- Organic/natural farming
- Environmental conservation
- Water conservation (rainwater harvesting, pond revival)
- Solar energy use (e.g., water supply systems, street lighting)
- Pasture development
- Rural entrepreneurship and livelihood creation
- Cleanliness, greenery, and cultural/spiritual preservation
Facilities and Infrastructure (6 Key Categories):
- Livestock & Animal Care: Gaushalas, cow memorials, veterinary hospitals, biogas plants
- Education & Health: Schools, health centres, libraries
- Water & Energy: Solar-powered water supply, solar street lighting
- Public Infrastructure: Cremation grounds, internal roads, parks, public toilets
- Governance: e-Panchayat services, updated land records, 100% e-KYC coverage
- Social Development: Cultural site conservation, cleanliness, nutrition, spatial planning
Employment & Economic Development:
- Milk collection centres, dairy cooperatives
- Craft and skill development centres
- Small-scale agro & forest-based industries
- Homestay tourism for additional rural income
- Promotion of natural farming to reduce chemical use
Additional Cabinet Approvals (June 2025):
Infrastructure Development:
- ₹4,572 crore allocated to rebuild 1,766 damaged bridges by 2030
- Objective: Ensure year-round rural connectivity
Education & Security:
- Rashtriya Raksha University Campus to be set up in Bhopal
- Aim: Enhance education & jobs in national security
Student Welfare:
- Mess services introduced in 108 hostels for backward class welfare students
- Budget: ₹31 crore
Strengthening Law Enforcement:
- 1,266 new posts created, including 202 Forensic Scientific Officers
- To support the implementation of new criminal laws
Support for Marginalised Communities:
- New District Coordinators’ Offices for SC/ST communities to be set up in: Mauganj, Maihar, Pandhurna
- 48 posts sanctioned with annual budget of ₹3.81 crore
