The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) organised the 5th meeting of the National MSME Council in New Delhi. The meeting saw launch of Udyami Bharat Portal (UBP) and MSME Technology Transfer Platform (MTTP).
Udyami Bharat Portal (UBP)
The Udyami Bharat Portal was launched as an integrated digital platform.
Key Features:
- Developed as a One Stop Shop for MSME services
- Aligned with the Digital India Mission
- Integrates:
- All MoMSME portals
- Portals of other Central Ministries/Departments
- State Government portals
Significance:
- Simplifies access to schemes and services
- Reduces fragmentation of information
- Enhances digital governance in MSME sector
MSME Technology Transfer Platform (MTTP)
The MSME Technology Transfer Platform (MTTP) was also launched.
Objective: To enable MSMEs to access:
- Advanced technologies
- Testing facilities
- Skilling support
- Intellectual Property (IP) commercialisation assistance
Significance:
- Promotes innovation and competitiveness
- Encourages technology adoption
- Strengthens MSME integration with R&D ecosystem
About National MSME Council
- Established by the Ministry of MSME
- Functions as an administrative and functional body for the World Bank-supported RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) Programme.
- Mission: To drive innovation, growth, and policy implementation for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
- It serves as a mechanism for:
- Inter-ministerial coordination
- Centre–State synergy
- Monitoring MSME sector reforms
- It plays a vital role in enhancing access to finance, technology, and markets while promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
- Its initiatives, such as Swachh Bharat MSME, reflect a focus on hygiene, infrastructure, and empowerment within the sector.
About RAMP Programme
RAMP aims to:
- Improve access to markets and credit
- Strengthen institutional capacity and governance
- Enhance Centre–State linkages
- Address delayed payments
- Promote greening and sustainability of MSMEs
The programme supports structural reforms in the MSME ecosystem.
