Prevention of Blindness Week 2026: 1–7 April

Prevention of Blindness Week 2026 was observed from April 1 to April 7, 2026 in India to promote eye health awareness and prevention of avoidable blindness. The campaign is organised by National Society for the Prevention of Blindness India and focuses on free eye screenings, public education, and early detection of eye diseases. 

It aims to reduce blindness caused by conditions such as cataracts, malnutrition, diabetes, and glaucoma, emphasising the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment.
