What is RELIEF Scheme?

RELIEF: Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation is a time-bound targeted intervention under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM), launched in March 2026 to support Indian exporters affected by:

  • Extraordinary freight escalation
  • Heightened insurance premia
  • War-related export risks arising from disruptions in the Gulf and wider West Asia maritime corridor

The scheme is implemented through ECGC (Export Credit Guarantee Corporation) as the nodal agency.

Key Components of RELIEF
  • Support for insured exporters for shipments already undertaken during the disruption period
  • Facilitation of insurance cover for upcoming/prospective shipments
  • Reimbursement assistance for eligible MSME exporters facing extraordinary freight and insurance surcharge burdens
Policy Clarification: Component II

Through a Policy Circular, the Government clarified the scope of Component II of RELIEF (pertaining to ECGC insurance support).

Exporters obtaining a fresh ECGC Whole Turnover Policy on or after 16th March 2026 shall also be eligible for support under Component II- aimed at ensuring wider participation, particularly for new policyholders.
