Government Unveils Commemorative Book on Operation Sindoor

Government of India has released a commemorative volume on Operation Sindoor, unveiled by Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. The publication documents personal testimonies of 100 officers, sailors, and airmen who participated in the operation, offering a human-centric account of modern warfare. It highlights the courage, leadership, and resilience displayed by India’s armed forces during the mission.

The volume Publication support was provided by the United Service Institution of India. It was prepared under the guidance of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), with contributions coordinated by:

  • Additional Directorate General of Strategic Communication
  • Media and Public Information Cell
  • Directorate of Media and Public Relations

About Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor was a multi-dimensional military and strategic offensive launched by India on the night of 7–8 May 2025.

It was conducted in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir (22 April 2025), where 26 tourists were killed by the Pakistan-backed group The Resistance Front (TRF).

Execution of Operation Sindoor

1. Kinetic Measures

  • The Indian Air Force deployed Rafale fighter jets
  • Used advanced weapon systems:
    • SCALP missiles
    • HAMMER precision-guided bombs
  • Targeted 9 terror launchpads
  • Neutralised over 100 terrorists with precision strikes

2. Technological Integration

  • The Indian Army leveraged Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Enabled:
    • Real-time multi-sensor data fusion
    • Target identification and prioritisation
    • Precision engagement with minimal collateral damage

3. Non-Kinetic Measures

India complemented military action with strategic steps:

  • Suspension of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty
  • Closure of Attari–Wagah border
  • Halt of bilateral trade with Pakistan
