Adi Karmyogi: Capacity Building Plan for Tribal Scheme Execution

The Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs launched the ‘Adi Karmyogi’ programme, a nationwide initiative to train and motivate over 20 lakh field-level officials for effective implementation of tribal welfare schemes. It was announced during the Adi Anveshan National Conference held at Vanijya Bhavan, New Delhi.

Background and Need

  • Despite multiple schemes for tribal welfare, outcomes remain limited in many areas.
  • Problem Identified: Lack of execution is not due to the absence of schemes or funds, but due to insufficient motivation and capability among the implementing officers.
  • This causes a gap in last-mile delivery, preventing tribal communities from receiving their entitled benefits.
