Ashwini Bhide has been appointed as Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), becoming first woman to head over 160-year-old civic body. She succeeds Bhushan Gagrani and will oversee a massive budget exceeding ₹80,000 crore, making it one of the most powerful administrative roles in urban governance in India.
