- Corporate, PSUs, Government Bodies, or Co-operatives (Two awards)
- Jeev Daya Award (Three sub-categories):
- Individual
- Animal Welfare Organization
- Schools, Institutions, Teachers, or Children
About Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI)
- Established: 1962 under Section 4 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
- Purpose: Advises the Government of India on animal welfare laws and promotes animal protection measures.
- Headquarters: Ballabhgarh, Haryana.
- Founder: It was started under the stewardship of well-known humanitarian Rukmini Devi Arundale.
- Functions under: Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
- Composition: 28 members, including 6 Members of Parliament (2 from Rajya Sabha and 4 from Lok Sabha). They have tenure of 3 years.
