IndiaAI, an Independent Business Division (IBD) under Digital India Corporation (DIC) of MeitY, announced the launch of the CDSCO-IndiaAI Health Innovation Acceleration Hackathon. in collaboration with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). The initiative falls under the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative (IADI), aimed at promoting AI adoption in critical sectors.
About CDSCO-IndiaAI Health Innovation Acceleration Hackathon
Objective: To build a comprehensive, end-to-end AI solution to streamline regulatory workflows at CDSCO — India’s apex drug regulatory body.
Structure: Two Stages
Stage 1 requires participants to develop an AI solution capable of:
- Data anonymisation of sensitive regulatory information
- Intelligent document summarisation from SUGAM applications, Serious Adverse Event (SAE) narratives and meeting transcripts
- Assessment and flagging of missing fields in regulatory forms
- Severity classification of cases
- Highlighting changes between document versions
- Auto-generating inspection reports from unstructured or handwritten notes
Stage 2 requires shortlisted teams to:
- Refine their models using proprietary CDSCO datasets
- Enable integration with SUGAM and MD Online portals
- Demonstrate measurable acceleration of regulatory approvals
- Submit a detailed project report on outcomes
Prizes & Incentives
- Top 10 teams from Stage 1 advance to an exclusive 5-day on-premises development round at CDSCO’s New Delhi office
- 1st Prize– Up to ₹10 lakh plus a one-year work contract worth up to ₹50 lakh for deployment
- 2nd Prize– Up to ₹7 lakh
- 3rd Prize– Up to ₹3 lakh
- Special Prize– Up to ₹5 lakh for an all-women team
