Haryana emerged as overall champion in Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) 2025, securing highest number of gold medals in second edition of multi-sport para event. The week-long competition, held in New Delhi, saw participation of over 1,300 para-athletes from various states and Union Territories, reinforcing India’s commitment to inclusive sports development.
Key Highlights of KIPG 2025
Events were conducted in six sports: Para Powerlifting; Para Badminton; Para Archery; Para Athletics; Para Table Tennis; Para Shooting
Top 3 Winners:
- Haryana topped the medal tally with 34 gold medals,
- Tamil Nadu (28 golds) – 2nd place
- Uttar Pradesh (23 golds) – 3rd place
Records Created:
- Eighteen para national records were set during the competition.
- Women athletes excelled, with 12 female competitors breaking national records.
A total of 596 medals were awarded:
- Male athletes won 346 medals (110 gold, 109 silver, 127 bronze).
- Female athletes won 250 medals (79 gold, 80 silver, 91 bronze).
- Star athletes included Harvinder Singh (archery), Navdeep Singh (javelin throw F41), Dharambir (club throw), and Praveen Kumar (high jump).
