India’s Major Ports Handle Record 915.17 MT Cargo in FY 2025-26

Major Ports under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) collectively handled 915.17 Million Tonnes (MT) of cargo in FY 2025-26, surpassing the annual target of 904 MT and recording a year-on-year growth of 7.06%.

Top Ports by Volume:

  • Deendayal Port Authority– 160.11 MT (Highest)
  • Paradip Port Authority– 156.45 MT
  • Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA)– 102.01 MT

Other significant contributors include Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Chennai and New Mangalore Port Authorities.

Top Ports by Growth Rate:

  • Mormugao Port Authority– 15.91% (Highest growth)
  • Kolkata Dock System– 14.28%
  • JNPA– 10.74%
