The 4th edition of the bilateral joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) amphibious exercise between India and the U.S. – Tiger TRIUMPH 2025, commenced onboard the Indian Navy’s INS Jalashwa (L41). The exercise strengthens maritime cooperation and defense partnership between the two nations, enhancing interoperability and joint all-domain operations for large-scale HADR missions.
About Tiger TRIUMPH 2025 Exercise
Objective
- The exercise is aimed at developing interoperability for conducting HADR operations and formulation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to establish a Combined Coordination Center (CCC)
- CCC would enable rapid and smooth coordination between Indian and US Joint Task Forces (JTF) during exercises and crisis / contingencies.
Participation:
- Indian side would be represented by Indian Naval Ships Jalashwa, Gharial, Mumbai and Shakti with integral helicopters and landing crafts embarked, Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft P8I, Army Troops from 91 Inf Brigade and 12 Mech Infantry Battalion, Air Force C-130 Aircraft and MI-17 Helicopters, along with the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT).
- US side would be represented by US Navy Ships Comstock and Ralph Johnson with troops of the US Marine Division embarked.
Phases of Exercise
Harbour Phase – Visakhapatnam
- Opening Ceremony with a joint Flag Parade and Media Interaction will be held onboard INS Jalashwa.
- Participants from both sides would also engage in Training Visits, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, Sports Events and Social interactions.
Sea Phase – Kakinada
- Joint Combined Command & Control Center for coordinated operations.
- Maritime, amphibious, and HADR drills leading to the establishment of a humanitarian relief and medical response camp after an amphibious landing.
