UP Expands ODOP Scheme to 12 New Products

Uttar Pradesh government has expanded its flagship ODOP (One District One Product) scheme by adding 12 new products, increasing the total to 74 unique products representing each district. The move aligns with UP’s vision to strengthen local entrepreneurship, skill development, and employment generation as part of its goal to become a $1 trillion economy by 2029.

Key Features of ODOP 2.0 Plan

  • District-wise Targets: To be fixed; pending loan cases to be renewed & forwarded to banks for 2024–25.
  • Loan Disbursal: Ensure disbursal of already approved loans.
  • Second Loan Provision: For successful beneficiaries of first phase loans.
  • Policy Amendment: To enable second loan disbursal.
  • Focus Areas:
    • Financing support for local artisans and entrepreneurs
    • Skill training & toolkits
    • Common Facility Centres (CFCs) in Unnao, Bijnor, Gonda
    • Branding, packaging, marketing, and quality enhancement
    • Integration of traditional food products into the formal economy
  • Beneficiary Selection: Through e-portal; trainees’ data shared with training institutes
  • ODOP 2.0: Under process for official approval
