The Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI) and the Eastern India Culinary Association (EICA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on culinary activities, industry outreach and the promotion of global food and beverage products, particularly across eastern and north-eastern India.
The partnership is designed to connect the region’s culinary talent and businesses with the wider Indian and international food and beverage ecosystem.
What the Partnership Will Focus On
FIFI and EICA will work together on activities such as:
- Culinary workshops and industry programmes
- Food festivals and culinary competitions
- Chef engagement programmes
- Global food and beverage product showcases
- Greater interaction between regional businesses and international food and beverage stakeholders
The collaboration will bring together chefs, food entrepreneurs, hospitality professionals, importers, distributors and international food and beverage stakeholders.
Strengthening Eastern India’s Culinary Ecosystem
A central objective of the MoU is to help establish eastern India as a hub for culinary innovation, food tourism, hospitality development and food and beverage trade engagement.
EICA currently has an active presence in: Sikkim, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, North-eastern states. It also plans to expand its reach to Bihar and Chhattisgarh.
Through the partnership, the organisations aim to build stronger connections among chefs, hospitality businesses, food entrepreneurs and culinary institutions in the region and the broader Indian and global food and beverage community.
Promoting Regional Cuisine and Global Exposure
The collaboration will provide greater visibility to eastern India’s culinary traditions, local ingredients and emerging culinary talent.
At the same time, regional stakeholders will gain increased exposure to international food products, new ideas and market opportunities, creating scope for greater culinary exchange and food trade.
