Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), NDA partners and voluntary organisations are undertaking the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from 17 September to 17 October 2026 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service. The campaign is centred on public service, outreach and Jan Bhagidari in support of the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Significance
- 17 September is observed as ‘Seva Diwas’ (Day of Service) and coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
- October 2026 marks the completion of 25 years of his public service, beginning with his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat in October 2001 and continuing as Prime Minister.
- The month-long campaign seeks to take public-service and welfare activities to the grassroots while highlighting development, social welfare and cultural initiatives.
