Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 was observed nationwide from 27th October to 2nd November 2025 with the aim of promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability in public administration.
The week coincides with birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (31st October) and organized annually by Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to foster a corruption-free and ethical society.
Theme 2025: “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility”
Objective:
- To raise awareness about the importance of ethics and transparency in governance.
- To encourage collective participation of citizens, institutions, and public servants in fighting corruption.
- To promote integrity and accountability across all levels of administration.
Key Activities During the Week
- Integrity Pledge: Public servants across Ministries, Departments, PSUs, Banks, and Government Institutions took the integrity pledge.
- Awareness Programmes: Debates, workshops, and sensitization programmes were conducted to promote ethical governance and preventive vigilance.
Three-Month Preventive Vigilance Campaign (18th Aug – 17th Nov 2025)
As a prelude to the Vigilance Awareness Week, the CVC directed all organizations to conduct a 3-month campaign focusing on five key areas:
Disposal of Pending Complaints:
- Ensure timely resolution of complaints received on or before 30 June 2025.
- Avoid pendency and ensure logical closure within defined timelines.
Disposal of Pending Vigilance Cases:
- Expedite pending vigilance cases to uphold natural justice.
- Implement systemic improvement advices in a time-bound manner.
Capacity Building Programs:
- Conduct training for Master Trainers and Executives on vigilance investigation, charge-sheet framing, and CTE-type examinations.
Asset Management:
- Review ownership and usage of land, property, and other fixed assets to prevent encroachment or misuse.
- Dispose of old and condemned movable assets as per rules.
Digital Initiatives:
- Regularly update organizational websites for greater transparency and improved public service delivery.
